Day 1; 120508
Reported to school for attendance marking, then left for Punggol jetty. It was a pretty hot day, we applied sunblock and insect repellent when we reached Punggol jetty. I was quite smart, so I squeezed a palm full of sunblock, and applied it onto my face, not knowing that I had turned into a snowwhite. Everyone was like laughing at me. :/ Waited and waited, finally we bid goodbye to mainland Singapore and took the boat to OBS camp 2, Pulau Ubin. Settled down at the multipurpose hall and waited for ALL the watches to arrive. Took two pictures at the Singapore's oldest rockwall. We were all quite sian and wanted to go home! All of us were quite sad. Didnt really talk much cause we dont really know each other well, except for classmates in the same watch. Were wondering why we had to pay so much just to torture ourselves. Quite pessimistic at that poin of time. We thought that it was ONLY the first day, and we still have FIVE more days to go. Anyways, after briefing, some admin stuff and collection of food, we changed into our wet attire and went to kayak! There were lots of food! 6 boxes of digestive biscuit, 4 packets of peanut crackers, 4 packets of coffee biscuit, 3 packets of raisins, 25 canned food, 30 packs of maggie mee, 8 huge loafs of bread, peanut butter, jam, butter, and tonnes of happy food. Anyways, back to topic. Actually, its tri-yak. Its damn fun luh! Grouped with Glendykhoo and Yishang. We were supposed to capsize ourselves and get on to the tri-yak without assistance. OH YES! THE WATER IS SALTY! The ratio of water and salt is probably 1:10! You can go try it at home. Salty like sai. Haha yeah, sammytan likes to say SAI instead of shit. She's so funny. Kayaked for quite a while, or maybe its afew hours? Then went on to jetty jump.

ALL THE TRI-YAKS

THE PADDLES

JETTY! ZOOM AND SEE PEOPLE DOING JETTY JUMP.

It was so cool watching the other watches jump, but when its your turn, its kinda scary. Really. I was kinda afraid to jump, but I thought if I hesistate, then I would be more afraid and I wont jump. So after I've said my goals for the 5-day course, I just jumped. It was so shiok! Except for the extremely salty water. And yes, our hair was kinda gel-ed when its dried. Salt crystals was found on our hair and clothes too. Cool, but gross. After that, we went for a bath. Glendy khoo's track pants sinks like sai man. She hung it in the store, and oh my, you can really smell it from like 1343852394823 metres away! Pitched our tents and cooked at the sunset valley. Haha first time I learnt how to pitch a tent. Sounds suaku-pok but yeahh... :D Cooked rice, canned peanuts and canned chicken cocktail. So yummy! Didnt know canned food can taste so good. Haha. Washed up the mass tins and stuff, packed our bags for the next two days, debriefed and slept. Bunked with Amanda Yew, Sammy, Yishang and Glendy Khoo.

Day 2; 130508
Kinda cool cause I woke up without any insect bites! Did morning PT with Marco Polo. Their instructor, Samuel is hilarious! Anyways, after PT, we ate 2 loafs of bread for breakfast, we were all bloated like sai. Unpitched our tents and did last-minute packing. After that, we combined with Marco Polo again and did the belaying thing. So fun! The belay calls goes like this:

Climber: Am I on belay?
Belayer: No, you are not.
Climber: That's me.
Belayer: Squeeze check
Belayer: Pull check
Belayer: Instructor check
Climber: Climbing!
Belayer: Climb on!

Had lunch and packed up. Went on for a trek to Kekek. Goodness, the bagpack was 14923482395723kg luh! Its damn heavy! You wont be able to stand straight! Its like you are carrying your clothes, food and etc, and whats more TWO bottles of 2 litres water! Heavy like sai. So anyways ,we planned to take the shorter route but we took the longer one instead. Took about one hour to reach Kekek. Supposed to make a raft using 6 pipes, 4 barrels and 15 strings. However, Marco Polo and us cant make it within the given time, so we dint get to raft to the midde of the quarry to measure the depth of the water. Kinda got scolded. Amanda Yin cried. Although I dont know why, but yeah, cheer up! Had a quarry jump! Goodness, the water is so clear and its NOT salty at all! Damn nice la. It was sort of a bath cause we wont get to bathe after that. Damn shiok. Tried to wash our shoes, but it got sandy again after we got onshore. Haha. Trekked to the Qatam campsite or something like that. Its just a open land at a beach. Reached there at about 7.30pm. Some of us pitched the tents while some cooked dinner. Amanda Yin, Luvina, Tingwai, Yvelyn and I cooked. Dinner was Curry noodles and canned curry chicken. The curry chicken was kinda gross. But the noodles are okay though, although its pretty hard to cook with only mass tins. Finally managed to cook all 15 packs of noodles after damn long. The campsite has no light, no water, NOTHING. So our source of water is from the jerry cans and the seawater. Washed up our stuff with seawater. Kinda gross cause everyone poured their remaining food/gravy into the sea. We cant use the water in the jerry cans cause its for drinking. Didnt manage to wash of the grease cause we didnt have any detergent. Packed up our stuff and went for briefing for the sea expedition the next day. Was so excited for it. Sammy and I were the Sea Expedition (SeaX) leaders for the watch. There were 8 leaders, 2 from each watch. Watches are: Marco Polo, Nila Utama, Raffles and Raleigh. Had an overall briefing and the SeaX leaders' briefing. Sam and I were the sweepers, the people at the back of the whole team. Its called Camp2delta i think? Whatever it is luh. Dint brush our teeths and dint bathe. Kinda gross but its like that. Changed our clothes in the tents. Peed in the drains. Lol. Oh yes, we did our duties. Nila Utama's was the 3-4am slot. Our tent did the 3.20-3.40am slot. Actually it was nothing much cause we just had to check if the instructors' boats were still there and if theres any suspicious people. Then we went to pee. It was scary cause when sam was peeing, we heard wilddog barks. We were damn scared and ran back to our tents. Woke the other tent up and went back to sleep. Tried to sleep but we couldnt cause apparently, there were some guys who kept shouting "UP, DOWN. UP, DOWN." for the whole 10-20 minutes. Whoever it is, but its damn noisy.

Day 3; 140508
Supposed to wake up at 5am, but we woke up at 5.45am. Overslept! So we hurry unpitched our tents, packed up and ate our breakfast. We were supposed to load our stuff at 6.30am and launch our first boat at 7am, but we launched the first boat at 7.45am instead. So anyways, we set off to camp 1, but we went around the whole pulau ubin to get there instead of taking the short route which will only take us about one hour. Were SUPPOSED to go the longer way. Sam and I were the last triyak, with felicia too. Helped others launch their triyaks. So paddle paddle paddle. Then we reached the place, which is pronounced as chake jawa. I dont know how to spell it luh. Goodness, the depth of the water is only about 30cm! Its like, you can see through it and the sand/seabed. I was scooping out the sand luh. Kinda scary cause we dint know at first till we realised the brownish water underneath us. Luckily it was high tide, if not we would be paddling in sand. When we passed chake jawa, we turned back and saw a sea of brown thing. Its sand! So glad we paddled fast enough, just before the low tide. Kayaked for another one hour, and it started to rain. All thanks to instructor sam who WISHED us "Heavy rain and storm." It was quite a heavy rain. Got onshore for shelter. We used our ponchos! Quite cute luh. The instructors were quite nice actually cause they made hot milo and oats/cereal drink for us. HOT drinks. And they gave us food too. Haha and yeah, we slept! When we woke up, we realise its one hour later. The rain stopped, but theres still light drizzle when we walked back to the beach. Continued to kayak. Kept cheering people on as sweepers. Good job, sammy and felicia! At around 3pm plus, we reached camp 1!! 7-8 hours of journey! We were so happy. Carried our triyaks on to shore. Had a overall debrief. SeaX leaders were kinda forced to say some stuff. Had a tour around the campus, then we had 1 hr 30 mins to bathe and pitch our tents. Nila Utama was smart enough to pitch our tents first. So, we had quite a good spot. (: Then we went to the toilet, wanting to bathe. However, the queues were extremely long so we cant really bathe cause the other watches bathe damn slowly. Washed our hair at the sink. I managed to get a cubicle at 5.55pm and we were supposed to meet at 6pm. Rushed through. Went to the canteen for dinner! We were so excited knowing that we dont have to cook our own dinner. Dinner was catered food. Not really catered cause those people cater to OBS permanently so they have their kitchen there. Had some activity/games within the watch, then we went for supper, which is red bean soup. OH YES! Glenda's red bean bun story is so classic! She was packing her food stuff and yeah...

Glenda: Eh look at my food! Its so wet and sandy!
Glenda: Look! Its so sandy!
Ximian & Yishang: <laughs>
Glenda: Its so sandy!
Ximian & Yishang: <laughs>

Glenda: OMG, look at my red bean bun! Its so wet and sandy! And its half eater but I dint eat it!
Ximian: <laughed like shit>
Yishang: <gives the 'okay...' face and laughed >
Glenda: WHY ARE YOU LAUGHING AT ME! STOP LAUGHING AT ME!
Ximian and Yishang: <Continue laughing>
Glenda: I think half of it decomposed into the sea when I dropped my bag of food into the water.

Ximian: <Laughed like mad>
Glenda: Why are you laughing at me! Stop laughing at me!

Yeah man, dont you think that Glendy khoo is just so cute and funny?!??! Totally man! The whole of Nila Utama laughed at her when they heard of the red bean bun story. DAMN FUNNY. Had a debrief and turned in.

Day 4; 150508
M__ greeted me that morning. Was quite glad cause its after the sea expedition and we wont have anymore wet activities. (: Brushed teeth, packed stuff and had breakfast (bread). Reported to the whatever court for morning PT. That was when the instructors said that we could go and have our breakfast in the canteen. We were like WTH? We just had ours, and they told us that breakfast is provided?! But anyways, since we had good and free food, we ate. Packed up alllll our stuff, had a briefing for the trek and left camp 1. Camp 1 was so beautiful but there were lots of insects. There was this mosquito which is palm sized. So scary. Imagine if it sting you... Anyways, yupp. So went trekking. Were supposed to find some checkpoints thingy. We were looking for the exit in camp 1 and finally, we found it after 30 mins or so. Like FINALLY. But, we were stucked around camp 1 for about 2 hours. Found 3 spiders and eliminated one check point though. Did not manage to find any check points and went to camp 2 straight away after 3 hours. We were like totally stucked! We dont even know where we were on the map. I think they should really get new maps! One of the map was updated in 1988 and the other in 2003. Seriously, get new ones! So yupp.. So glad to reach camp 2. Put down all our stuff at the multipurpose hall and had lunch. Man, our shoulders felt so much better. After an hour, we challenged ourselves to rock climbing. Before that, we had to climb 100 steps which is so called the stairway to heaven.

STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN

Glenda actually went to count it. HAHAHA silly glendykhoo! I still love you though. Glendy khoo was quite cute on that day too. HAHA.

ROCK WALL

Thats the rock wall we climbed. Climbed the one on the left. It was damn hard to climb! You cant climb not because you are afraid of heights, but its because you dont have anymore strength. Seriously. Its not easy. Glendykhoo belayed for FIVE times consecutive. And she claimed that I'm a kangeroo cause I kept jumpin infront of her. GLENDY KHOO! Its just because you have no strength to pull the string cause you're too weak, and I had to help you pull it so that the climber wont fall. See, you must thank me! (: She's damn funny la. She belayed for Yvelyn. Yvelyn was climbing and we were shouting to her the steps. Yvelyn dint want to move her right leg I think. So we kept shouting and shouting, asking her to move her leg.

Nila Utama: Move your right leg to the purple one!
Yvelyn: Cannot!
Nila Utama: Cann! Just move it!
<5 minutes had past>
Nila Utama: Move your leg!
Yvelyn: Cannot!
Glenda: MOVE THAT LEG, NOWW!
Yvelyn:

Glenda: SEE, IT WORKS!
Ximian:

Glendykhoo is just so cute please! It was so high that day. Yishang and Glendy said some nonsensical joke, but its quite funny though.

Yishang: Eh sand can fly
Yishang: SANDFLY!

Goodness, dont you think its so diaoo! Its YISHANG. YISHANG eh! It was so unexpected. But yeah, OBS - expect the unexpected. HAHAHA.

After rock climbing, we went back to our store. We were quite high then. Then there goes glendykhoo..

Glenda: We are in heaven, no wonder we are so high now!

Glendykhoo! I dont know why you kept sprouting nonsense! Okay la, actually its quite funny. :D Returned our harnesses and helmets to the store, then went to have dinner. And thennnnn, we saw FRESH VEGETABLES! There were rice, mushrooms, baked beans, luncheon meat, cabbage, carrot, onion, garlick, beans and eggs! The scholars got so excited and yup, they cooked that meal. The rest of us helped to chop the stuff, wash the mass tins and cutlery, and took pictures! Haha.

Dinner was yummy! Its the best meal we all had in OBS. So nice! Its like, it feels like we're at home. Lol. Oh yeah, we started singing the national day song, HOME. Pulau Ubin became our home instead, at that point of time. It was 9pm plus when we ate dinner, kinda late already. Marco Polo, which is beside us was still cooking! They wanted to cook fried rice but they ended up cooking the same stuff as us. I was saying, "Fried rice is for LAZY people to cook one." damn loudly, so I think they heard. Then I decided to take back my words, so I said, "Okay la, fried rice is for HARDWORKING people to cook." It was kinda sacarstic. Anyways, yeah they were still cooking luh! Like its damn late already. Washed up our stuff after dinner and packed some stuff. We wanted to go and bathe but ALL the toilets were flooded, with people and with water. Sammy and I were desperate to bathe cause yupp.. Bumped into minyee outside the gross toilet and she helped sam and I cut queue. Yaye. So we got to bathe. Its damn gross cause ALL the cubicles are flooded with water till our ankles! The drain was clogged I supposed. Damn gross la, especially the male toilet beside Tenzing. There were insects in the whole toilet, be it dead or alive. Lights out supposed to be at 11pm, but we got to bathe only 3 mins before 11pm. We were so scared that the toilet will black out, but it dint. (: Hurried back to our tents and sleep after we bathe. Other than Sam and I, Yvelyn and the two scholars, the rest dint get to bathe. So they all decided to wake up at 4am to bathe.

Day 5; 160508
Woke up at 4am with the rest. They went to bathe, I went to wash up. Sorry sam, we left you in the tent. :O Its the last day and we were all quite happy. Compared to the first day, its really different. Happy cause we can go home and cause we realy had fun. Actually, we were quite sad that 5 days had past so quickly. Yupp. We didnt do anything much. Packed up the store and our bags. We lost one jerry can and a tentpole bag i think? Its quite funny cause nobody ever lost a jerrycan. We spent hours hunting for a NU jerrycan but we cant find it. So we were like, "Aiyah, the jerrycan is so huge, if its lost, means its really lost." Haha yup, so we had to pay for both items. Actually we had to pay more but we found the other missing items. Originally, one bagpack was missing, but the very nice batuta gave us one. We found our tent bag in the tent, which is -_-". Bottles at the multipurpose hall. So yup, paid $1.10 each. Bought soveniers an got our photos and certificates! The we had this diving thing. Its like you stand on the steps then you dive down to this strecher which the rest of the watch-mates will hold, and when youre diving, you will have to try to hit this bell. Oh and before diving, we had to give a speech. Like what you have learnt and all those. Its quite scary but fun luh. It was quite a touching moment cause you realised that you really learnt alot of stuff and made lots of friends. Sammy cried when she made her speech. It was so contagious! Instructor boo, yishang and I, as well as some other cried too. Or maybe had tears in the eyes. So sad! D: Had a watch debrief and an overall debrief. Then took the boat back to Punggol. There was a icecream vendor and we all rushed to it to get ice-cream and drinks. It has been ages since we ate it! Got on to the bus with another watch and back to school. SAW ARIEL GUO YANYI at the foyer! Oh my, I missed her SOOOOOOOO MUCH! Really missed her. Talked to her for awhile and she told me that she got me a vacancy for ACSI june act. LOL. HAHAHA. Hi-5! Love you so much. ZZ took public transport to come and fetch me! Mum sent her car for servicing. Thats why. So funny luh. So we took a cab back home. (:
